Santa Fe, NM- Chiaroscuro Contemporary Art presents: Mix & Match: Holiday Group Show 2010 from November 26 – December 31, 2010. Artists include Rebecca Bluestone, Mateo Galvano, John Garrett, Kay Khan, Tim Jag, Michele Mikesell, Peter Millett, Flo Perkins, Gunnar Plake, and Susan Sales. There will be no opening reception for this exhibition.
Mix & Match features recent work from these 12 artists, most of which were featured in our fall 2010 exhibitions and art fairs. This show includes new work to the gallery from painters Mateo Galvano, and the debut of Tim Jag’s Colornova Series.
Tim Jag is a young, established artist based in Santa Fe. Chiaroscuro has been following his career for many years, and is pleased to present his work for the first time in Mix & Match. The Colornova Series is a hybrid of a Pop Art sensibility with a hard-edged painterly style. The geometric patterns radiate outward in a burst of color and form that draws the viewer into these dynamic abstractions.
Rebecca Bluestone, John Garrett, Kay Khan, Peter Millett, and Flo Perkins were all featured prominently at this year’s SOFA Chicago exhibition November 5-7, 2010. Mix & Match will feature a selection of these works to be seen in Santa Fe for the first time. Gunnar Plake, Michele Mikesell, and Susan Sales’ works on view are dramatic pieces from their fall exhibitions.
