When: Jun 15th-Jul 7th 2012
Chiaroscuro is pleased to present its second large scale solo exhibition of photographer Renate Aller’s work. Her new series, "dicotyledon", explores how we see nature and how we “read” photographs. The work, based on Romanticism, memory and landscape, is presented as large-scale color photographs installed to provoke a non-linear narrative. The placement of the photographs is paramount, and, just as words and phrases work together in a sentence to ascribe meaning, the images play off of each other, drawing the viewer into a “conversation" with the works.
